Post-doctoral seminair entitled ‘Late Antique Churches of the Patriarchate of Antioch (4th–7th Centuries)’

The Jaussen & Savignac Programme (University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and The Royal Commission for AlUla) is pleased to announce its fifth postdoctoral seminar.
Bertrand Riba, postdoctoral researcher of the Jaussen & Savignac Programme, will lead a seminar entitled ‘Late Antique Churches of the Patriarchate of Antioch (4th–7th Centuries)’ on Friday 5 June 2026, in Paris, at the Institut national d’histoire de l’art (INHA), in the Vasari Room, from 11.00 am to 5.30 pm. The seminar will comprise three consecutive sessions on the following themes: ‘The churches of the Patriarchate of Antioch (spatial and liturgical organisation)’; ‘The rite of baptism: what archaeology tells us’; ‘The phenomenon of pilgrimage as evidenced by archaeology’.
