Master 1 Jaussen & Savignac 2026–2027: A New Cohort Begins the Academic Year
The new cohort of the Master 1 in Archaeology and Preventive Conservation – Jaussen & Savignac Programme (University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and The Royal Commission for AlUla) is taking its first steps into the new academic year today, Monday.
Following an orientation day dedicated to discovering the teaching team, the university environment and the training programme, the eight students of the 2026–2027 cohort are beginning their academic journey within the Jaussen & Savignac Programme.
During this first year, students will be introduced to different approaches to archaeology through courses focusing in particular on field archaeology, the study of objects and archaeological remains, digital tools and environmental archaeology. The programme also includes an introduction to preventive conservation, as well as courses in English, Arabic and French as a foreign language.
The programme combines theoretical teaching, practical training and field experience. Internships are an essential component of the training, allowing students to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the academic year. The programme therefore provides an integrated training experience closely connecting university education, archaeological practice and professional experience.
The 2026–2027 cohort is composed of Ahmed Alamri, Amir Hashemi, Claire Meheux, Dalal Alotaibi, Fahdah Alkhaldi, Hissah Alkhaldi, Rawnaa Babonji and Norah Alqahtani.
